My Commitment To You & What I Ask Of You

We have all been affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It has been a difficult time for everybody. As we come out of our 3rd lockdown we still need to have measures in place to protect us all and try and stop the spread of the virus.

I have missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I am looking forward to seeing you again as I open for business on 12th April 2021.

My priority is to keep you and I as safe as possible, during the first lockdown I completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for the industry. I also followed guidelines from The British Beauty Council and the Government Guidance and made a number of changes in the way that I operated. I have kept up to date with the changes to the Government Guidance for close contact services and implemented relevant changes and updated my risk assessment. I will be taking bi-weekly Coronavirus rapid flow tests starting Friday 9th April to ensure I am safe to open and continue working. If anyone in your household is in nursery, school or college you can order free rapid flow tests to do twice weekly testing here.

Booking Appointments

If I feel ill or have symptoms of COVlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will have priority of available appointments when I am well again.

If you or any of the people you live or work with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME IN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. As always I am an appointment only service. You can request appointments online or message me.

The day before your appointment you will receive a reminder email, this email contains 4 questions which you MUST reply to, to confirm your appointment. These questions were in the government guidance which is why I am asking them. You will also need to confirm there are no changes to your answers when you arrive and sign a form. This information along with the personal information I have for you will be shared with the government Test and Trace service if necessary.

Visiting the Nails By Nat

There is no parking available at Nails By Nat, if you are travelling by car there are several car parks in the area; Tesco car park is currently free of charge, Sainsburys car park has very reasonable rates and there is also pay and display parking on Wellington Street.

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments alone and  as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that I haven’t finished sanitation and disinfecting and you will have to wait outside. If you do not used the intercom please text me when you arrive, I will then wash my hands and use sanitiser and come and open the door for you. I ask that you attend your appointment with minimal belongings.

I have increased the of cleaning at Nails By Nat including sanitising and disinfecting the entire desk and its contents, disinfecting all client contact areas including door handles, bathroom sink and toilet in-between each client.

All tools and equipment will, as always be sanitised and disinfected in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions. Wherever possible I will utilise single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross contamination.

When entering Nails By Nat please go straight to the bathroom. There will be a client box waiting for you in the bathroom with a clean & disinfected nail brush, clean flannel washed at 60°, new carrier bag and new disposable mask. Please use the carrier bag to place any of your belongings in.

You will have access to soap and hot water, please use the nail brush to clean under your nails when you wash your hands, use the clean flannel to dry your hands and turn the tap off, place used items back into your client box. As always I will have hand sanitiser available for you to use. If at any point during your visit, you need a tissue, please let me know.

You will be required to wear a mask during your visit, I will provide you with a new disposable  mask however if you prefer to wear your own face covering this is fine. If using the disposable mask please put this on once you have washed your hands. There is a hook outside the bathroom door for you to place you coat on. I will also be wearing a mask and a new disposable apron for every client as well as clean gloves for every service as usual.

I can confirm that towels used at Nails By Nat have always only been used for one client before they are laundered at 60°. I also wash my uniform at 60°.

I have upgraded to a dust extractor from my dust collector which I will use when filing product off your nail or filing to refine product on your nail. I will also insure that my air purifier is turned on before and during your treatment and windows and doors will be open to offer adequate air circulation.

If for any reason we are visited by the police, you may have to remove for mask for identification purposes. The police and local authority Royal Borough of Greenwich are also carrying out spot checks and have the right to enforce any rules in relation to social distancing, issuing a fixed penalty notice or take further action.

Treatments and Patch Testing

I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and am are confident that I can continue to provide most treatments safely although I have decided that facial waxing cannot be provided until further notice.

Anyone wanting a Lash Lift or Waxing Services will need to be patch tested whether you have been patch tested before and regardless of if you have had a patch test within the last 6 months. This is essential.

I will also be asking if you have had Coronavirus and if you have been vaccinated, I ask this as this would mean there is a change in your medical history. I will also to asking if you have used any home gel polish kits, waxing kits or lash tint and lifting products. I ask this as we are in an allergy epidemic in the UK and a lot is down to home kits. Also if any of my products cause allergies this needs to be reported to the manufacturer.

During your treatment

I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment, I will apply hand sanitiser and wear a clean pair of gloves.

I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to satisfy you.

I am now able to provide you with refreshments other than water during your treatment.

After the treatment

As always I only take card payments, please use contactless payments wherever possible. If you do need to enter your pin, I will clean my phone prior to this and afterwards as well as the payment terminal. We will verbally agree your next appointment and this will be confirmed by email by the end of the day.

All of these procedures have been implemented for both our safety. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary. Whilst this level of cleaning & PPE are required there will be a £1 charge added to your visit. I have sourced items as cheap as I could, this could rise or fall when I run out of items depending where I can get items.

Thank you for your understanding.

I cannot wait to see you.
